Kwik Fit Insurance Review

Kwik Fit Car Insurance Website (Kwik-FitInsurance.com): From their home page it was easy to find the quote section, it was just one click in the middle of the page, next to a massive picture of a car, with a big button that said "get a quote".

Things continued to be this simple and I found their simple layout meant that there was no confusion, the background was white, with help buttons, headings and tabs in blue. Even their logo was only a small thing at the top which helped keep things clean and stopped the page looking too busy.

The site first asked about my details, the cover I would require, information about my car and then about the me - my D.O.B and license etc. The next tab claims to be the quote but I found I then had one more page of information to fill out about my employment, and any disabilities, offences, previous claims and all of that stuff. It then took me on to my quote which took quite a while to load up, though like the pages before it though it stuck to the point and didn't mess me around with statements and questions that were either irrelevant or confusing.

They did do one thing I thought was unfair though, on the results page I get two choices - to pay annually in one lump sum, or to pay in monthly installments. Under the annual payment part it said the total, told me how much extra for legal cover and then gave me the new total. However, under the pay monthly section it told me the monthly fees, how much extra a month for legal cover and then told me the total price per month. It didn't tell me the total amount I'd pay in a year, which when I worked it out on a calculator was almost £300 more. They did however offer me an online discount of 20%.

My final quote from them was £1393.49 this included the legal fees option which coats £37.

If I was to pay monthly it would cost me £133.97 a month for 11 months, again including the legal fees option, plus a deposit of £139.35 which would bring my total a year to £1613.02

Kwik Fit Car Insurance Phone: So I phoned Kwik Fit expecting to be able to get a quote from them but after the recorded message telling me about them, and what they do with you information etc ... I found out that they can only discuss existing quotes you have with them or discuss a quote you received from their website. I decided to phone them then after I received an online quote and asked them to talk me through it. The person I spoke to was very polite and sounded happy to help. They checked through all the details of my quote asking me all questions again to make sure that all the details were correct. They were very thorough and explained all the details to me. However before they then told me my final quote I was put on hold while they sorted it all out, this was rather amusing as not only do they play music but on top of the music they also play their adverts, news headlines, entertainment news and even weather forecasts. However once back on the phone with a person they explained me how much my quote was and what was included in my quote.

My final quote from them was £1274.16 annually, or they gave me two options for monthly installments, one option was to pay a £127.46 deposit and then eleven months of £124.76 (total £1,499.82). The other option they gave me was a deposit of £10 and then ten monthly payments of £151.67 and one payment of £151.71 (total £1678.41).

So that's four different prices for the same quote.
